REFIX, the healthy recovery drink whose controlling interest was acquired by FMR Brands, will join Let’s Sea, a parallel event at the UN Ocean Conference in Lisbon, Portugal. The event will take place on June 29th at Parque das Nações.
Let’s Sea event is a joint initiative organized by Turismo de Portugal, the World Surf League (WSL), MEO and EDP, in the context of the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC) happening at the Altice Arena in Lisbon, from the 27th of June to the 1st of July 2022. Let’s Sea starts on the third day of the Conference and aims to highlight the role of surfing in protecting the oceans and show how all ecosystems that involve companies, representatives, and institutions can be mobilized around this goal. This comes in order to fulfill the UN14 (Life below water) and UN17 (Partnerships for the goals) Sustainability Goals.
REFIX will be present at the Let’s Sea event, showcasing its delicious seawater-based ready-to-drink beverage and its sustainable business model that aims to grow a circular economy and help reduce pollution with plastics. A promotional video will also be shown, displaying the philosophy of the brand and the benefits of drinking this healthy beverage. The brand also hopes to take part in the discussion on the urgent need for innovation and technology to help industries transition into more sustainable business models.
The event will have two main project presentations:
- “Unwanted Shapes – Zero Impact, Full Performance”: this project aims to encourage the entire surfing industry to use boards made of material with no environmental impact, until the 2028 Olympic Games.
- “Surf For Tomorrow”: this project wants to train a new generation of surfers and develop their talent with a reinforced commitment to the protection of the ocean.
Let’s Sea takes place on June 29th near the Blue Zone in Jardim da Música, located in Parque das Nações, from 9 am to 10 am. REFIX will also showcase its ocean-related products at the Science & Business2Sea stands from One Sustainable Ocean, another parallel event that will be held beneath the roof of the Portugal Pavilion, which is located just 3 minutes away by foot from the main conference.
